The Outlaws are 1920's inspired, vintage wooden cars. Candylab took cues from a mix of Art Deco modernism and the daredevil, rough and oily car culture of those years. In our era of clean, immediate digital entertainment, they wanted to bring some of these stories back, blending keen design, old-fashioned playtime, and some storytelling.
Bad Emergency is inspired by the American workhorse during the late 20s and 30s, the hugely successful Ford Model AA, itself a variation of the iconic Model A. This truck powered small businesses, construction and rebuilding projects, rumrunning, dustbowl migrations and post-recession rebuild. It's ingrained in the pioneering spirit and hardships of that era, and Candylab says it deserves a place in pop culture.
The toy itself has a yellow and black herringbone pattern on the front radiator, a long bed to haul other toys, and a magnet "hitch" making sure the towed cars stay in place.
Material: Solid Beech Wood, water-based paint, and clear urethane coat. White ABS plastic rims, with Food grade rubber tires. Safety tested according to US CPSIA and European, Australian and New Zealand regulations.
Designed by Brooklyn based Candylab Toys. Made in Ningbo, China.
Recommended Age: 3+

Candylab ToysCandylab Toys was born out of our desire to revive the glamorous '60s American modernist vibe and carve it into awesome contemporary wood toy designs. As artists, designers and parents we draw on many influences, not least of which are our deep love of classic American Cars and the craftsmanship spirit of mid-century artisan furniture designers.
" Two years of experimentation, development, testing and relentless encouragement from friends, family and perfect strangers at the playground have resulted in designs that we felt we were ready to share with the world. The groundswell around our idea, and the unconditional support of over one thousand people from all over the world that backed our Kickstarter campaign have made our ideas into reality. We are eternally grateful. "
